Dear Reader:
As I sit here trapped within the belly of the beast, of the most active death penalty state in the union. I decided to write this introduction
letter "To whom it may concern."
I pray that whomever, takes the time out of their busy schedule to read this, that
it finds you and yours in the best of health and strength, and enjoying
life, as if you were in paradise, a heaven on earth, as it was meant to be. Time has given me this opportunity to reach out of this dark and
isolated place and give back what God has given me, and that is life and love, and the pleasure is all mine.
I will begin this introduction by showing you the mystery that is of me. The human being,
not the number. I am an African-American male, 26 years of age, born
March,11th, 1979. I grew up in Houston Texas, I am part of a large family which
consist of: 3 brothers, 1 sister, my mother and father and me. I have been incarcerated for 7 years, and on death row for 6. The enviornment
in which I grew up was infested with; drugs drug Lords, pushers, and prostitutes. And in my neighborhood this was
common place, and these became the role models of my youth;
pretty cars fast money, and women of little moral standards.
I am seeking correspondence with someone who can shine a ray of sunshine in this dark and dreary
place where good healhty human beings die every month of the year. And this scares the hell out of
me. I consider myself an open minded person with honorable intentions,
great expectations of thoughts an ambitions in life. I am reaching out of this negative enviornment of harsh circurnstances and hatred, looking for some
moral and emotional support.
Just a little something to help me escape from this torture and mental cruelty in which I am surround by daily. There are very few family members and friends who write to me, and that makes this isolation all
the more difficult to deal with. A nightmare to which I can't wake up. I want to show the world that I am not an animal, nor am I
am menace to society, that cannot be rehabilitated. How can you make that
judgement of a 20 year oId who has his whole life in front of him and can't even buy beer. But this cruel State of Texas, has
labeled me this. How can I be when I was just a kid that made some bad decisions in his life. But haven't we all made mistakes? I still have a
heart, I still have deep feelings of love for the human race. I still am learning and growing as a human being, so
how can someone that doesn't even know me just say that I can't be rehabilitated and everyone believe it?
That is so very wrong.
I am trying to over come this
injustice of Texas justice system. And this is a struggle in which I
know I can't win alone, because all human beings need others to survive,
no one lives in this world alone.
My hobbies were horse back
riding, rodeoing and raising pibull dogs. I am a football fanatic, and I
love music and singing. I don't have much to offer, but you will get all
of my, devotion, loyalty, honesty, friendship.
So in closing I hope that I have
said something to capture your attention, because I will again give what
God has freely given me, and that is friendship and love. So may God
continue to bless you, and keep you. For the struggle for humanity is
all of our responsibility.

Lieber Leser:
Während ich hier sitze, gefangen im Bauch des Biests, dem aktivsten
Todesstrafen Staat in den USA, habe ich mich entschlossen mich mit
diesem Brief vorzustellen für “wen es interessiert”.
Ich bete, dass, wer immer diese Zeilen liest mit der begrenzten Zeit,
die jedem übrig bleibt, dass Sie und Ihre Lieben gesund und stark sind,
und das Leben genießen, als ob Sie im Paradies wären, einem Himmel auf
Erden, so, wie es sein sollte. Die Zeit gab mir die Gelegenheit, von
diesem dunklen und isolierten Ort heraus zu schreiben und zurück zu
geben, was Gott mir gegeben hat, und das ist das Leben und die Liebe,
und die Freude ist ganz auf meiner Seite.
Ich werde mich vorstellen und Ihnen das Mysterium um mich herum
aufzeigen. Das menschliche Wesen, nicht die Nummer. Ich bin ein
afro-Amerikaner, 26 Jahre alt und ich wurde am 11. März 1979 geboren.
Ich wuchs in Houston Texas auf und bin ein Teil einer großen Familie
die besteht aus: 3 Brüdern, 1 Schwester, meiner Muter und Vater sowie
mir. Ich bin seit 7 Jahren inhaftiert und davon seit 6 Jahren im
Todestrakt. Das Milieu, in dem ich aufwuchs war umgeben von Drogen;
Drogen und Drogen Dealern, Besitzern und Prostituierten. Und in meiner
Gegend war das normal und diese Personen wurden in meiner Jugend zu
Vorbildern; auch schöne Autos und schnelles Geld, sowie eine Frau mit
geringem, moralischem Standart.
Ich suche Briefwechsel mit
jemandem, der eine Menge Licht in diesen dunklen und trübseligen Ort
bringen kann, an dem gute und gesunde Menschen jeden Monat im Jahr
sterben. Und das ängstigt mich zu Tode. Ich denke, dass ich ein offener
Mensch bin mit ehrenhaften Absichten, großen Erwartungen und Ehrgeiz im
Leben. Ich greife heraus aus dieser negativen Umgebung mit harten
Bedingungen und Hass, ich suche ein bisschen moralische und emotionale
Unterstützung.
Einfach eine kleine Hilfe, die mir aus dieser Qual und mental grausamen
Umgebung heraus hilft, mit der ich täglich umgeben bin. Ich habe wenig
Familienangehörige und Freunde, die schreiben, was mich diese Isolation
um so schwieriger ertragen lässt. Ein Alptraum, aus dem ich nicht
erwachen kann. Ich möchte der Welt zeigen, dass ich weder ein Tier noch
ein Verrückter in dieser Gesellschaft bin, der nicht rehabilitiert
werden kann. Wie kann man sich ein Urteil bilden über einen 20-jährigen,
der sein ganzes Leben vor sich hat und nicht einmal Bier kaufen kann
(nicht legal, ist in Amerika erst mit 21 erlaubt). Aber dieser grausame
Staat Texas hat mich abgestempelt. Wie ist das möglich, wenn ich doch
nur ein Kind war, das eine falsche Entscheidung getroffen hat. Aber
haben wir nicht alle Fehler gemacht? Ich habe immer noch ein Herz und
tiefe Gefühle für die menschliche Rasse. Ich lerne immer noch und
wachse heran als ein menschliches Wesen. Also, wie kann jemand, der mich
nicht einmal kennt, einfach sagen, dass ich nicht rehabilitert werden
kann und jedermann glaubt ihm? Das ist einfach nicht richtig.
Ich versuche, über diese Ungerechtigkeit der texanischen Justi
hinwegzukommen. Und das ist ein Kampf, den, das weiß ich, nicht alleine
gewinnen kann, denn alle menschlichen Wesen brauchen andere, um zu überleben.
Niemand überlebt in dieser Welt ganz auf sich gestellt.
Meine Hobbies waren Reiten, Rodeo
und die Pitbull-Hunde-Zucht. Ich bin ein Football-Fan und ich liebe
Musik und Singen. Ich habe nicht viel anzubieten, aber Sie werden meine
ganze Hingabe, Loyalität, Ehrlichkeit und Freundschaft erhalten.
Während ich ende, hoffe ich, dass ich etwas gesagt habe, dass Ihre
Aufmerksamkeit gefunden hat, denn ich werde wieder geben, was mir Gott
gegeben hat und das ist Freundschaft und Liebe. Also, möge Gott Sie
weiterhin beschützen und bewahren. Denn wir alle sind für den Kampf um
Menschlichkeit verantwortlich.
